As the Grandparents popped over to Leeds for the day from their stay in York, a spot of lunch was on the cards.
I always struggle to find places which are quirky, relaxed and show the true variety of this vibrant city. Especially those which don’t bat an eye lid then a quick bite turn into a couple of hours nattering.
The beautiful fully restored Leeds Corn Exchange is a fabulous back drop and a favourite haunt of mine. Its hidden gems and unique boutiques is one I always take show friends and family. Today was the perfect opportunity to taste the latest resident Primos, another tick off the Leeds cafe wish list!
With Thursday’s being Dog Day (Sorry Florence there back!) Buy one gourmet hot dog and get a second for just £1, that’s two for under £5.
With my love for everything Mexicana, I was thrilled to see an all beef Frankfurter, topped with Monterey Jack cheese, guacamole, sour cream, tomato salsa and jalapeños amongst the choices. With my Grandad being a vegetarian finding an option that is suitable is always tricky, but with a selection of salads and bagels, the portion of fries kept him happy.
The service was friendly, and the extensive fridge of soft drinks even included Fenton’s Dandelion and Burdock, another of Grandad’s favourite!
With all the hot dogs being served quickly in plastic baskets, the America feel has definitely been brought to this historic Leeds building, perfect for a take-away grab or a leisurely lunch! I’ll be back!
