Keep Calm and Scrabble On…

Finding little retro treasures always brightens my day, and these are the perfect flat warming gift especially if they can be personalised hand-made and recreated.

These little scrabble quote photography prints were the real inspiration, which are available from Etsy (another countless hours spent in this site) seller RetroLovePhotography for $15! Bargain!

When I stumbled across these frames, I was certain I could construct them with a little trip to Ikea later.

Such a simple design and so easy to make individual and bespoke

Don’t compromise on style when you want to have a little bit of fun. Brigitte Herron has designed these pictures using original scrabble pieces, which are on sale at www.rockettstgeorge.co.uk for £59.

A rhyme sung by my Mumma to me as a child! What a gorgeous nursery room wall image!

The moment I wake up…

Before I put on my make-up…

Finally a Sunday edition on a Sunday! As my favourite film is currently on TV, this Sunday is really becoming my perfect afternoon.

The Way You Look Tonight

In honour of the 1997 Julia Roberts classic “My Best Friend’s Wedding” I say a little pray for you… I wanted to bring you another of my wedding inspirations, one which I’ve been following for about 5 years and a true source of bridal beauty. Snippet and Ink’s blog has established itself as the ultimate daily blog for all things lovely.

Having fallen in love with Kathryn’s inspiration boards which continue to set and inspire my creativity with each tiny detail being of such a high standard. My only slight obsession for wedding photograph has grown with every ‘real wedding’ which has been posted over the years.

Snippet and Ink has become a part of wedding vocabulary and such lovely way to share great themes, stunning photography and so many stories from beautiful couples on their big days. http://www.snippetandink.com find a link on my featured blog roll on the left of Sixteen10’s home page.

Until next time, D x

One Day…

Twenty years, Two people

Under strict orders, One Day is packed ready for a visit home and a delivery to the Mother (There is always something lovely about sharing stories with loved ones, literature is something that’s better discussed with friends)

Having gained huge popularity through the release of Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgees’ version, I thought I would not have time to read the David Nicholls novel before seeing the film. But the minute I unwrapped this Birthday present, it was a page turner that I couldn’t put down.

I truly connected with the inter-linking relationship of two best friends which with every chapter, the longing for them to finally be together grew. Meeting Dexter and Emma every St Swithin’s Day (July 15) gave the book a real element of uncertainty and surprise at each stage.

A beautiful story touching on issues which I hadn’t ever really read in such a sensitive way, the personal account of drink, drugs, loss and love. How true friendships can develop into the strongest of love, and its power to overcome all else.

One Day, has become my favourite book of the year, get yourself lost in the maze of emotions and expect that life sometimes doesn’t have those fairytale endings but embrace the beginnings that do.
